Level Three – A Scene for Your Reel In Level Three, students put all of their training into practice and create a polished scene they can use for their demo reel. The course begins with a review of key principles from Levels One and Two, followed by mock auditions and casting for the final scenes to be shot. Once casts are assigned, students will collaborate to rehearse their scenes, exploring improvisation as a tool to expand and deepen their work. Each group will also walk through how they envision their scene being shot and edited, developing an understanding of the creative process behind the camera. The next phase of the course simulates a real on-set experience. Each class is devoted to filming one or two scenes, with students alternating between acting in front of the camera and taking on crew roles behind it. This hands-on approach ensures that every participant gains practical insight into both performance and production. The course concludes with a presentation of rough cuts, giving students a first look at their filmed work. Alongside celebrating progress, the class will also examine continuity, sound, and other technical elements—learning how small imperfections can be refined in the editing process. By the end, students will walk away with a professionally shot scene to showcase their skills and support their growth as actors.
