Are you interested in portrait painting? Whether you are a seasoned artist or a beginner, this course is designed for everyone. Students will explore methods for creating realistic portrait painting in oils. Experimentation is encouraged to develop our art and unleash our creativity. The course includes live model sessions, copies of old and contemporary painting, and a personal portrait project to engage and challenge students. We will focus on exploring value, tone, and colour harmony throughout the course. Both alla prima and indirect methods will be practiced.
